When i turn my steering wheel it creaks

I'll certainly keep this updated for other members suffering from the same. I'm gonna call my dealer in the morning and while its going in to get that noise sorted, i'm gonna let them diagnose the four shocks, as i find it hard to believe they are ment to make such banging. I do know that if it is indeed a rubber from the suspension this has to be changed asap as this can result in a suspension failure. We suspect it to be the support beam of the left front suspension which has a rubber and this could have cracked/broken which is causing the squeeky noise (rubber getting trapped in moving elements) or sometimes the more metalic noise (the two metal parts of the suspension just hitting each other when the rubber has moved a bit).īut we still dont know why the noise is not there anymore when doing higher speeds as that would result in higher stress on the suspension due to the higher speeds. I did notice the sound wasnt always there when driving, it wasnt as pronounced as when i returned from work after the car stood still for an entire day. He was also a bit puzzled to what was causing this as the sound is not mechanical(good news i guess). Its time to wave honda farewell and i wont be looking back to them.Ĭlick to expand.Been out for a drive and visit to a car mechanic. I dont want to own this car when its warranty is over, i would be the biggest (and most expensive, apart from buying the damn piece of junk) mistake of my life. The suspension noises are gradually becoming louder then a boeing during lift off and one piece after another is failing. I may love my car because its my first ever and i might like the looks but reality is that this is the worst car i've ever driven. I'm now going out for a drive and try to locate the problem but i'm just fuming, this is AGAIN another issue. Turning is even worse, it then becomes a metal grinding/clicking noise. Hitting small potholes results in a little bang sometimes, dont know what the noise is when going over worse roads as the suspension itself makes just too much n oise then. I can feel the creak through the steering wheel and through the truck when I slowly turn the wheel. The noise is heard evenly on both sides of the truck and centered behind the skid plate. The noise is actually a constant rubbery ticking noise when going slow, its constantly there, even on the flattest of roads. Thats the first thing I checked and theyre all cleaned up and lubed with tri flow, still creaks like crazy. Today however the noise has become increasingly more pronounced and it even resulted in a bang coming from the left front of the car so i decided to investigate: turned radio and aircon off and then i noticed the horror. You can also raise the van and slide the dust boot down to be able to get some lubricant at the mount (to see if and how if effects the noise) Yes bearings are known issue on these vans. I first noticed a weird noise when turning but didnt pay much attention as this car has many noises. If you get that same creak when slowly rolling over bumps, spray some lube on the strut bumpers. For $30K it should be quiet.Click to expand.Since two days, i have the exact same thing, your describtion is exactly what i was going to write. I think they just want the customers to deal with it. Moral of the story: Make sure you push the dealers to get these annoying problems fixed. I 'flushed' the power steerimg fluid using a turkey baster. I left the dealer and have not had any problems since. The car squeaks and creaks when the steering wheel is turned. After the fix was done he told me that the reason that my RTL was outside of the TSB Vin #'s is that the factory had put part of the wool felt that is mentioned in the TSB, but not all of it. I told the service advisor that I will bring it back everyday until it is fixed. When we got back to the dealer, he told me that he couldn't fix a problem that he doesn't hear. I think the technician had selective hearing, because he acted like he could not hear anything when the wheel was clearly creaking. They called me to tell me they could not hear the problem so I should take a ride with the technician to show him the problem. If these happen, a part of your power steering system is probably damaged. At normal speeds Screeching, squealing, and whining sounds when making a turn is the result of bad parts. As long as the noises come from the front of the engine, the pump is definitely the culprit.

My RTL fell just out of the Creaky Steering Wheel TSB Vin #'s, but it still had the problem. Meanwhile, a damaged power steering pump is the cause of a whining sound. I recently took in my RTL for a few different annoying noises, one being the steering wheel creak.
